High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Oenothera caespitosa, known commonly as tufted evening primrose and fragrant evening primrose, is a perennial plant of the genus Oenothera native to much of western and central North America. It produces a rosette of lobed or toothed leaves each up to 36 centimeters long around a woody caudex. There are many subtaxa, referred to as subspecies or varieties. Oenothera caespitosa grows to 10 centimeters (4 inches) tall. It is good for rock gardens. The flowers are white and become pink in time.

High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! The Sahamalaza Sportive Lemur (Lepilemur sahamalazensis) is a sportive lemur endemic to Madagascar. It has a total length of about 51 to 54 centimeters, of which 26-27 centimeters are tail. Sahamalaza's Sportive Lemur is found in northwestern Madagascar, living in subhumid forest and some secondary forests. The sportive lemurs are the medium sized primates that make up the Lepilemuridae family. The family consists of only one extant genus, Lepilemur, as well as the extinct genus Megaladapis. They are closely related to the other lemurs and exclusively live on the island of Madagascar. For a time, this family was named Megaladapidae, but the current name was given precedence.

Superconducting strip-lines for mass spectrometry

The emerging life sciences (genomics, proteomics...) require to the modern time-of-flight mass spectrometry (TOF-MS) the capability to identify and quantify massive macromolecules with masses larger than 100 kDa. The detectors commonly used in TOF-MS have both sensitive area of square centimeters for a good geometric efficiency and a sub-nanosecond response time for a small mass resolution. Anyway they suffer a serious loss in detection efficiency for masses above 4 kDa up to become completely insensitive for values of about 100 kDa, limiting the effectiveness of the TOF-MS technique. Here, I show how an innovative class of detectors, superconducting strip-line detectors (SSLDs), allows a mass independent detection efficiency and unprecedented performances respect to the other superconducting detectors, in terms of both sub-nanosecond response time and large coverage area, when revealing keV molecules. All the aspects concerning the fabrication technology of superconducting thin films and nano-patterning by electron beam lithography for the SSLDs realization as well their characterization in a TOF-MS are treated in this book. This book is integrally extracted by my PhD thesis.

Yellow-Lored Tody-Flycatcher

Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. The Yellow-lored Tody-Flycatcher (Todirostrum poliocephalum) is a species of bird in the Tyrannidae family. It is endemic to Brazil, occurring from Southern Bahia southwards to Santa Catarina. Measures an average of 8.8 centimeters and weighs an average of 6.8 grams. It is an insectivorous bird, feeding on small arthropods. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and heavily degraded former forest, including urban parks and gardens. Spends most of the time amongst foliage and is hard to be observed due to its diminutive size. Makes, however, a conspicious round nest with straw and leaves, hanging from branches at a small height from the ground and with a side entrance. Lays from two to three eggs each nesting season, which are incubated solely by the female

Ferrari 250 GTO

The Ferrari 250 GTO is a sports car that Ferrari made for racing in the early 1960s. The numerical part of its name denotes the displacement in cubic centimeters of each cylinder of the engine, whilst GTO stands for "Gran Turismo Omologato", Italian for "Grand Touring Homologated." When new, the GTO commanded an $18,000 purchase price in the United States, and buyers had to be personally approved by Enzo Ferrari and his dealer for North America, Luigi Chinetti. 36 cars were made in the years '62/'63. In 1964 'Series II' was introduced, which had a slightly different look. Three such cars were made, and four older 'Series I' were given a 'Series II' body. It brought the total of GTOs produced to 39. In 2004, Sports Car International placed the 250 GTO eighth on a list of Top Sports Cars of the 1960s, and nominated it the top sports car of all time. Similarly, Motor Trend Classic placed the 250 GTO first on a list of the "Greatest Ferraris of all time".

VADASE: a brand new approach to real-time GNSS ...

This book describes a new approach, named Variometric Approach for Displacements Analysis Stand-alone Engine (VADASE), originally designed to detect in real-time the 3D displacements of a GNSS receiver. VADASE is based upon a so called variometric algorithm able to retrieve in real-time the displacements of a unique receiver, with accuracies ranging from few centimeters up to a couple of decimeters. Eventually, VADASE was appointed as an effective contribution to GPS Seismology. First, the state of the art of GPS Seismology and the advantages and limitations that GNSS receivers can bring about with respect to seismology instruments are presented. Further, a review of the main applications that benefit from high-rate GNSS data availability is given, with an insight on earthquake and tsunami early warning systems. Then, the book illustrates VADASE functional model and the results obtained in several scenarios simulated by a Spirent GNSS data simulator. Importantly, receiver displacements achieved for real earthquakes by VADASE are assessed with respect to those obtained by the most used strategies in GPS Seismology (i.e. Precise Point Positioning and Differential Positioning).
